Balton CP streamlines their operations through its subsidiaries established in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria.
Due to the peculiar nature of their business, Balton CP recognised the need to develop separate websites for its subsidiaries. The requirement was to develop a group of websites that can be managed independently by each subsidiary but also supports a central point of web management.
Balton CP decided to have a central point of web management for all their subsidiary websites and have a common theme for all of them. At the same time, they wanted to allow their subsidiaries to manage their own web content whenever needed.
Since the requirement was to develop multiple websites under a single brand name and with same design principles, we suggested WordPress Multisite as the best suitable solution.
The web admin for Balton CP website is set as the network administrator. Each of the eight subsidiaries is also set up as multisite on the same install of WordPress, with editor only privileges. So, users at each subsidiary could log into just their website to make any needed changes, without affecting other websites.
The SUPER ADMIN has all the rights and can work on all nine websites from the network dashboard.
Each subsidiary website can be managed independently by its own management team. Updating a website will not affect any other website in the network.
Each subsidiary can be accessed via separate links. The homepages have their own feel and look that fits the nature of each business in the network and help Balton CP to communicate with their visitors more effectively.
The admins of each subsidiary website have the privilege to manage their respective websites independently. The super admin is entitled with the complete privileges to manage all the websites in the network.
The solution developed by our team helped Balton CP to have a single network of websites managed by the respective web administrators. The main components and theme of each website are now under the control of the super admin of the main website.
