Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) is the largest distribution name in Kenya with a mission to deliver superior communication, distribution and financial solutions to customers and create value for their stakeholders. Through the 623 outlets that are spread across Kenya, PCK is the most accessible, affordable, and reliable service provider in the country.
The Requirement
Postal Corporation of Kenya wanted to introduce a comprehensive solution in the market that would help them with streamlining their distribution service by offering door-to-door pick up and delivery with the help of motorcycle, van, pick up and truck owners in the country.
The Challenge
Kenya is the world’s 48th largest country with an area of 580,367 square kilometres and a population of more than 52.2 million people. As a responsible distribution service provider, PCK wanted to enhance the quality of their service by offering door-to-door pick up and delivery to facilitates the successful movement of goods from one point to another, anywhere in the country, within a short period of 5 hours. To achieve their goal, PCK decided to tap on the pool of motorcycle, van, pick up and truck owners available in the country.
The Solution
The requirement called for a comprehensive solution and it consists of mainly three components.
- iOS and Android Mobile Applications for consumers.
- Android app for delivery staff.
- Web-Based Admin System.
The consumer app helps users with placing orders for pick up and delivery with a provision to track and trace the packages real-time until delivered and schedule the time for pick up and delivery.
The driver app helps drivers/riders to accept orders from their location and deliver it to the recipient with the help of navigation features that is already a part of the solution or any preferred navigation software that is already installed on their device. Drivers/riders have the option to rate their client based on their experience after they make the delivery. Only a registered user can make a request for pick up and delivery with this solution, making the platform most secure for drivers and riders.
The backend helps the staff of Postal Corporation of Kenya to manage users and orders, manage delivery vehicles, and manage drivers.

The Result
EMS2Go, a door-to-door pick up and delivery mobile application, is currently helping citizens of Kenya with placing orders for pick up and delivery and tracking the same until delivered. This real-time navigation that is part of the solution is helping the registered drivers to fulfil their orders more efficiently. The backend system enabled the Postal Corporation of Kenya to have full control of their operations and has helped them with making their pick up and delivery service more accessible, economical, and error-free in addition to making the whole service a pleasant experience for their customers.
